Alma Handzic, IAH Director & Art Dealer

Alma Handzic founded the International Art House in 2005 combining her educational background in Business Management and History of Art with her professional experience gained while working in commercial galleries in Edmonton, AB and Toronto, ON.
Alma's appreciation of art and a desire to be involved in the world of art stems from an early age and was inspired by her parents' collection of Eastern European art as well as the gatherings often frequented by most interesting characters, artists, writers and scholars. While living in Eastern Europe and Canada, Alma has extensively travelled through Europe and has visited parts of North American and African continents, where she explored galleries and museums filled with art previously seen in her art history books. Earnest to start her professional career in the exciting world of art and very shortly after her convocation, Alma made a decisive move to Toronto, a city with a rich and thriving art scene.
Since the inception of the International Art House, Alma had a number of successful art exhibitions featuring Canadian and International artists, whom she had a great pleasure of working with. Having gained clients on whose behalf she purchases art at auctions, having had organized donation of art works to government operated art galleries among other interesting assignments, Alma looks forward to new and exciting projects.
